Healthy Menu Solutions

Why Coffee, Tea, and Me.....

Our mission statement is Eat Healthy, Be Healthy, Stay Healthy. There are 16 million American vegetarians or vegans (www.navs-online.org), and each year, more Americans are deciding to change their eating habits for a better quality of life. Americans are looking for a healthier choice in their entrées and desserts.

Soy's Health Benefits

The advantage of eating the fresh, soy, natural, and whole-grain products of Coffee, Tea, and Me is the key ingredient "soy". A soy diet decreases cholesterol levels by an average of 10% because it contains soluble fiber, which is known to interfere with the absorption and metabolism of cholesterol. Studies have shown that soy protein lowers LDL (“bad”) cholesterol while maintaining levels of HDL (“good”) cholesterol.

Lower Fat, Sodium, Calories

Our breakfast breads alone are 20-25% lower in cholesterol and 25-35% lower in sodium than similar breakfast breads. Our breakfast breads, as well as our other food products, are 10% lower in calories and 8-10% lower in fat than similar products are.

Healthy Daily Fat Intake

We do need a percentage of fat daily because it is necessary for good health. Fat supplies energy and essential fatty acids. The daily recommended intake of total fat should be less than 30% of your total diet. A person who consumes 2400 calories a day should have less than 80 grams of fat. It’s important to note 30% is an upper-level limit.

Clean Ingredients, No Add-On

Also, replacing animal foods with soy products may help conserve the body’s calcium storage. We use a minimum amount of ingredients without unnecessary additives, and we meet most wellness programs.

Fighting Cancer With Soy

Studies have also shown that hormone-dependent cancers, such as breast, ovarian, and prostate, have responded especially well to a soy-rich diet; that's because soy contains plant estrogens called Isoflavones, which may block the formation of new blood vessels, which tumors need to grow. According to the Organic Consumers Organization, soy alleviates menopause symptoms because the plant estrogens in soy minimize hot flashes and night sweats.
